Firefly Nail started in a 38-square-metre studio on Anfu Lu in 2024. We paint every set by hand on Tuesdays, ship every Wednesday, and sleep on Thursdays.
Lin had chipped a nail before a Tuesday dinner. A salon appointment would have meant 90 minutes and 280 renminbi. Instead she painted a tip on her kitchen table, photographed it, and posted it. Three friends asked to buy a set within the hour.
Two years later we are four painters, one studio, and roughly 200 sets shipped every Wednesday — each one painted, sealed, and packed by a person whose name is on the kraft sleeve.

One studio. Four chairs. Every set painted by one of these four people — by name.

How a Firefly Nail set actually gets made. No mystery, no outsourced steps.
We start with a hand-shaped ABS tip blank, 0.6 mm thick. Sized XS through L.
Two coats of UV-cured base, three coats of colour, cured between each.
Hand-painted motifs. Sculpted 3D elements are added with builder gel and sealed.
Final top coat. Each set is named and packed by one of the four of us.
